Abstract

Geomorphological studies in Central Jutland have lead to considerations as to the development of the extensive valley systems (Tunnel valleys). A possible explanation of their development might include tectonic displacements in the substrata. Results of the study of morphology, lithology and chemistry of the ground water are discussed to illuminate this possibility. Furthermore several scale model experiments have been carried out and compared with the actual terrain morphology. The age of this displacements is discussed and it is proposed that they occurred as late as after the Saalian glaciation.
