Abstract

During the writing Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, observations of the most significant outlet glaciers of the Greenland Ice Sheet rapidly changed the outlook in a dramatic way (IPCC, 2007). The ice sheet models delivering the forecast on the ice sheet contribution to global sea level change proved insufficient and unable to reproduce the events taking place.
