Abstract
The Qaqarssuk carbonatite complex has been mapped and the petrography, mineral chemistry and whole-rock geochemistry of the carbonatites and metasomatically altered basement rocks are described. The 173 Ma old Qaqarssuk carbonatite complex consists of carbonatites intruded into Archaen basement in at least two stages, with concomitant metasomatic alteration of the wall-rock.
