Abstract

According to the grain size distribution, fine gravel analyses, till fabric measurements and tectonic analyses, four kineto-stratigraphic units can be established: unit 1) glaciofluvial deposits and a sandy till laid down by an ice-sheet from the E; unit 2) a sandy till deposited from the NE; unit 3) a clayey till and tectonic disturbances originating from an ice movement from the SE; and unit 4) glaciofluvial deposits and glaciotectonic deformations caused by an ice movement from the NE. Age determination of the marine deposits by foraminifera permits a correlation of the kineto-stratigraphic units with established glacial advances; unit 1 belongs to the Elsterian glaciation; unit 2 to the Drenthe (Saale I) advance, unit 3 to the Warthe (Saale II) advance, and unit 4 is referred to the Weichselian (NE-) advance. -from English summary
