    Abstract

    The map shows the top of the pre-Zechstein deposits in southern Scandinavia and the eastern part of the North Sea. The mapping is based on sismic data, and the depth is shown in reflection time as well as in metres. The mapped surface constitutes the base of the Zechstein salt deposits in large parts of the Norwegian-Danish Basin. Fault zones in this surface originate exclusively in the basement below. The distribution of the salt deposits, the salt structures and the occurrence of basement are shown separately.
