Abstract
We present the first formal Danish nomenclature for describing landslides in Denmark and Greenland based on established international work. The Danish terms landskred and geofare are introduced as Danish equivalents to the established English terms landslide and geohazard. Further nomenclature for landslide morphology, types of landslides, naming, state of activity and other descriptors are also introduced. The various types of landslides are briefly described in a Danish context based on previous publications and occurrence. The nomenclature is intended for the research community, stakeholders and the general public.
