    Abstract

    The historical background of nd the debate concerning the causes of dislocations observed in Danish coastal cliffs are outlined. Glaciotectonic analysis is shown to be useful in geological mapping as well as in exploration work. The Weichselian ice advances in the Danish region are discussed in the light of recent glaciotectonic studies.
