Primary research interests include ammonite and belemnite taxonomy, stratigraphy, biogeography in the Jurassic and Cretaceous of East, North-East and North Greenland and Svalbard; palaeoceanography and paleoclimate in the Early Cretaceous; biostratigraphic, isotope and magneto-stratigraphic correlation between the Boreal and the Tethyan during Jurassic and Cretaceous incl. the challenges in placing the Jurassic–Cretaceous boundary; Triassic ammonoid and halobiid bivalve stratigraphy in North Greenland. Late Precambrian – early Palaeozoic basin evolution in NE Greenland, Cambrian-Ordovician conodont stratigraphy, Cambrian small shelly fossils (SSF) and small carbonaceous fossils (SCF).
