Presentation

Key Competencies

Research topics:  CCS (cement, seal), abandonment of oil and gas in the North Sea (seep pathsways, biological response) bivalves (taxonomy, ecotypes, palaeoenvironmental indicators), cold-water corals (past and present), petrography (cement, chalk, limestone), sedimentology and stratigraphy

Selected Research Projects

  • Project leader of the SEEP ecology project which in collaboration with the SEEP project aims at identifying a baseline of the biological and thermogene seeping in the North Sea and  also to study the possible consequences. (e.g. by the bivalve response). Founded by DTU offshore. (1,5 mio. DKK), 2022-2024
  • Project leader of the SEABAS project which is an extension of the two SEEP projects and focus on the possible leakage of CO2 during CO2 storage and also developing tools of how to identify a leakage. Founded by DTU offshore (3 mio. DKK), 2023-2024
  • Researcher in the two projects COLLATE and GREENSAND dealing with the different changes of the cement (petrographic studies) during storage of CO2 in depleted reservoirs in the North Sea, 2021-2023.
  • Researcher in the LOCRETA project dealing with the sedimentology, petrography, palaeontology of the tight reservoirs in the Lower Cretaceous strata in the Danish Central Graben and project leader on a similar project in the Danish Basin. 2018-2020
  • Researcher in the mapping of the Kilen area in Northeast Greenland working with the biostratigrapy (Inoceramids) of Upper Jurassic and Cretaceous strata. 2012-2016.
  • Postdoctoral researcher on the evolution of coldwater coral mounds founded by the Carlsberg Foundation and an internationalization stipend from the University of Copenhagen 2009-2013
