Geological Data Centre

Organisation profile

Organisation profile

GEUS is the national geological data centre of Denmark, and the Geological Data Centre develops and maintains the databases that host the large collections of data from Denmark and Greenland.

Among other things, the department is responsible for running GEUS’ data and IT infrastructure and developing applications to allow reporting and dissemination of data to/ from the databases. We also produce geological maps as traditional map sheets, but increasingly focussed on integration in online portal solutions.

The department provides expertise for a wide range of projects within the fields of groundwater, energy, raw materials and climate. Furthermore, we participate in a number of European standardisation initiatives to facilitate harmonised access to geological data across national boundaries.
