Resumé

Observations of uplift/subsidence in Denmark show some similarities and some differences in time scales of 10s, 100s and 1000s of years. Geodetic observations in the edge zone of the Fennoscandian Shield, in Denmark describe the phenomenon in 10s-100s of years scale. Improvements are building up via permanent GPS stations. Earthquake observations in seismology are of relevance to the same time scales. Geological studies of shore lines describe the postglacial earth-surface motion in a quite different time scale of 100s– 1000s of years. Only scattered observations of this exist so far. Further observations and lithospheric process descriptions of the observed similarities and differences are planned in the project described in this session on upper mantle dynamics and Quaternary climate in cratonic areas.
