Resumé

The Ujarassiorit public mineral hunt programme, funded by the Government of Greenland, is in its 9^th consecutive year of operation. In 1996, 938 samples from all parts of Greenland, except very remote areas, were received. Of these samples more than a third were found sufficiently interesting to justify geochemical analysis.

This report presents the main results and analyses, and is the product of cooperation between the Government of Greenland’s Minerals Office (MO), which manages Ujarassiorit, and the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), which prepared the maps and releases the report.
