Resumé

Paleoceanographic evidence from the N Atlantic subpolar gyre and NE Caribbean indicates a major, long-term change in ocean-atmosphere circulation modes around AD 1230, indicating that the termination of the Medieval Warm Period prevailing circulation mode occurred prior to the Wolf Solar Minimum, apparently
without an obvious external trigger.
