Resumé

To better understand the contributions of surface climate variability to Greenland ice volume changes, the MM5 Polar-version weather forecast model was ran over a 17-year period (1988-2004) characterized by warming. It was found that melting is nearly balanced by ice accumulation. However, other factors support an overall loss in Greenland's glacial ice and substantiate the claim that Greenland is contributing more to the current 3 mm per year global sea level rise than any other glaciated region.
