title = "Late Glacial and early Holocene records of Stratiotes aloides L. from northwestern Europe",
abstract = "Early Holocene finds of the freshwater plant Stratiotes aloides L. (water soldier) are reported from southern Sweden and the southwestern Baltic Sea for the first time. However, the species has previously been reported from Late Glacial deposits from Poland and The Netherlands, and from early Holocene deposits from Finland. Thus the species was an early immigrant to northwestern Europe after the last glacial maximum.",
