Resumé

An inverse rock physics modelling approach is used to evaluate rock physics models suitable for seismic reservoir characterization. Subsequently, the best model candidates are used to transform seismic parameters into parameters describing the reservoir quality. We demonstrate the method on synthetic seismic parameters for a 2D reservoir model. The method successfully identifies suitable models for the various lithofacies and estimates reservoir properties which match very well with the reservoir model. The approach allows us to integrate geological data and geophysical theories to improve quantitiative seismic reservoir characterization.
