This publication is one of three (see following abstracts) prepared as part of an integrated mapping project of Jutland and adjoining waters based on deep well and seismic data. The mapped area comprises parts of the northern flank of the Ringkobing-Fyn High, and parts of the Danish Basin, Sorgenfrei-Tornquist Zone, and the Skagerrak-Kattegat Platform. Within the area 18 salt diapirs and a number of salt pillows are mapped. The theme of the maps in the present publication is the chalk deposits of Late Cretaceous and Danian age. The four maps comprise: structure of the base of the post-Early Cretaceous deposits - the "Base Chalk'; structural depth of the Base Chalk; isochore map of the Chalk Group; interval velocity of the chalk Group. Inset maps of structure, supercrop and subcrop at Base Chalk level, and a brief summary in Danish and English are included.
