Resumé
Allochthonous macroscopic plant and animal remains from a shallow‐water marine deposit from Northwest Greenland, assigned to the Early Weichselian/Wisconsinan, are indicative of arctic biotas dominated by herbaceous plants. The presence of several southern extralimital taxa show that summer temperatures were considerably higher than at present, presumably with a mean July temperature of about 8°C, as compared with c. 4°C at present.
