    Resumé

The Geological Survey of Denmark (DGU) is an advisory and research institution under the Danish Ministry of Environment. The main objective of DGU is to map Denmark and the Faroe Islands geologically, to make scientific and practical surveys and to be available to the Danish Government as well as for purposes of public utility through its activity.

DGU carries out geological mapping and investigations by assignments for private firms according to contracts. Since the foundation in 1888 a wide range of maps and papers have been published as a result of the scientific and practical work of the institute.

The catalogue presents various types of maps produced through the years by DGU. Furthermore, an intension of the catalogue is to point out new production potentialities.

The catalogue only contains examples of maps, which either cover the whole country or form part of series. During the hundred years DGU has produced maps, a development has taken place within the methods of mapping, the geological know-how and the cartographical production technique. These developments appear on the maps and will, of course, have to be considered when using them.
