Resumé
Sedimentary rocks of Cretaceous to Lower Tertiary age are present on land in West Greenl'and in an area extending from the inner part of the Ingnerit peninsula in the north to the Grønne Ejland group of islands in the south (fig. 301). This area constitutes only part of a much more extensive sedimentary basin - the West Greenland basin - that is known to extend along the entire western margin of Greenland, most of the deposits being concealed beneath the waters of Baffin Bay, Davis Strait and the Labrador Sea.
