Aktivitet: Tale eller præsentationPopulærvidenskabeligt foredrag

Beskrivelse

Navigating Climate Extremes and Exploring Degrowth
Time: Friday May 16 at 10.55-12.25
Auditorium: Bartholin Auditorium

Chair: Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz, Head of Department, Geoscience, Aarhus University

This track addresses full-scale climate breakdown through three insightful talks:
• Adapting to Climate Extremes: Lessons from past warm periods and current efforts, presented by Geoscience (Aarhus University), and how to implement climate adaptations in practice to withstand impacts alongside resilient infrastructure and community resilience strategies presented by Aarhus Kommune.
• Degrowth: Scaling back consumption and production for a sustainable, equitable society within ecological limits.
• Radical Interventions: Debating geoengineering (e.g., atmospheric particles) with critical distance, plus CO2 mineralization tied to the carbon cycle, weighing ethical and environmental stakes.
The track concludes with a panel debate to deepen the discussion.
